I'm remodeling a bathroom and at the stage to place ceramic tile down. Should I install the vanitiy first and tile around it or vise-versa. Seems easier to do the flooring first but all other projects I've seen have the lav installed before the flooring.

Vanity last on top of the tile. Tell us more of your floor structure. What are your joist size, span, and spacing? What's each layer above the joists and how is it fastened?

I would recommend doing the tile last - why take the chance on it cracking?
You can get a cheap wet saw for about $45 at Lowe's.

You can install the tile first or install the vanity and tile around it. I can be done both ways. I do what tilebri suggests - vanity on top of the tile.

Burkely - Why would the tile crack if you put the vanity on top????

I followed Tilebri's advice when I did mine (tile first then vanity). One advantage I noticed is that you don't have to worry about the cuts around the vanity, and the cuts under the vanity are hidden. Also, more room to work without the vanity in the way.
