replacing carpet with laminate. have some existing 3/4" thick hardwood floor. any suggestion on how to step up from laminate (about 3/8") to 3/4". None of mouldings found so far mentions stepping up thickness. closest is "end" cap which is about 1/2" thick, leaving a difference of 1/4".

Try using a vinyl reducer that transitions a laminate down to a vinyl. Turn it back wards so that it reduces the hardwood down to the laminate. You will have to fashion a support underneath the reducer in the expansion gap while still leaving room for expansion.
