I have a blonde colored dresser that has a dark ring on it. It was caused by a lamp that had felt backing that sat on the dresser. How can this stain be removed?

tec00a, Welcome to the DIY Forums.
If the dresser has a coating on it (polyurethane or such) you may be able to use something like a Scotchbrite pad. Do not rub too hard, you only want to remove the mark, not the finish. Run your fingers across the ring. Is it "above" the surface or has it gone into the finish? That will tell you if you are going to have to refinish the spot once the stain is removed. Good luck.

Majakdragon, It looks like the stain is below the finish. Tried cleaning it and also tried rubbing toothpaste on it as someone suggested. I can't determine what caused the stain other than there was a lamp on that spot that had a felt backing. Thanks for your help.
