thanks to hurricane rita i have to drywall the house.i would get a pro but they want too much to do it Im leaving one of my good celings and it has a light texture to it i want the whiole room to look good what would be the best way to retexure the entire room.stomp or spray? i would really like to make it as uniform as possable. thank's chad

Spraying texture is probably the easiest method [and messiest] Depending on the the texture mixture and orifice size used a lot of different textures can be achieved. Spraying texture requires an air compressor and a hopper gun - both can be rented.

Stomp texture doesn't take any fancy equipment. Just thin down joint compound, roll it on the ceiling and use a brush to 'stomp' the design. A round brush and crow foot brush are the 2 most commonly used.

Either method can give uniform results although both require uniform application to get good results. You should consider what type of texture you want which will inturn determine what methods will need to be used.
