My dining room has 24ft ceilings, I have 6 windows and they form into a curve the top windows are on "top" of the bottom with a space of about 8ft between them. All have blinds on them, the bottom 3 also have drapes. I want to change the window coverings but with "what" I don't know. Leaving the blinds off the top windows is not an option, this house also has skylights and the entryway has 26ft windows in stained glass. Making this room darker would be nice. Would it be too much to have drapes covering from floor to ceiling? :coffee:

are you thinking of sewing these draperies yourself?

I see this alot. It looks very nice. But, you would have to either make them yourself (quite a task) or have them custom made. You will not find readymades this length.

I could sew them myself. I can sew but just hate it. Do you have any other suggestions?

The only other thing would be panels at the top of each window, instead of one long one, or a roman or another type of shade or blind on each window, with a valance or cornice at the top window. Can't really think of anything else.

with such large, high, dramatic custom windows, i strongly suggest you enlist the help & services of a drapery professional who can come to your home, whether that be an interior designer or a designer from a store that sells draperies or a person who sews & designs draperies.

I think moving will be cheaper! LOL but it isn't that funny this is a big problem, that is quite expensive no matter how you look at it. I will never never buy a home again with windows like these unless they are looking out to the ocean and if I can do that money wouldn't be a problem. Thank you I really think I might sell to someone else this may not even be a problem but when I get an idea in my head it will drive me nuts unless I do something about it.
