I am dividing my basement in half, one side for a tv room, the other will have my furnace and oil tank in it. Question, do I need to rock that wall that divides the room with 5/8 sheetrock bec. of the proximaty to the furnaces?

I'm also wondering if fiiberglass can be put in the floor joists above the hi-hat light fixtures. I'm putting fiberglass in the joists before sheetrocking to help on the noise reduction.

Last question, can I wire in monoxide detectors in the same series as my recepticles or lighting? I definitely want hot wired detectors, as you hear horror stories about kids being over come with monoxide in basement playrooms..
Any help would be much appreciated.
