I'm currently drywalling a guest room that previously had (among other things) plaster over a sheet of drywall. Now that we've gotten all of the plaster and old drywall off, we've insulated the space and we're trying to put the new drywall up.
unfortunately, it seems as though the window framing on one wall is about 7/8" out from the studs. so, even if we put 5/8" sheetrock up, there would still be a 1/4" gap between the moulding when we put it up and the drywall.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance,
Matt

Either plane down the jamb or pad out the studs.

Or drywall to the studs, and fill the gap after you trim with sceen molding or something that fills the gap slid between the trim and drywall, and make it even with the outside edge of the trim.
It will make it look like you have thicker trim than you do, but I like the look personally...

Thanksfor your replies. We've padded the studs out. Seems to be working well.
