I'm thinking of putting all my A/V euipment behind the wall where it's at now. This room I'm thinking of going to is under the stairs closet. But, I don't want to move all the equipment, run wires under baseboards, etc...if I can't access them with my remotes (obviously). Has anyone used products like the Hot Link Pro, Powermid, or any other transmitters like this? I seen something at Best Buy today...but I forgot the name. Any advice or thoughts?

You have three Options: The first is a pyramid style remote, it's wireless, one unit (transmitter) sits with the TV and the other (receiver) stays with your audio equipment. These work pretty well unless the wall is concrete. they stand about six inches high by 4. The second would be a wired system. It basically uses a Cat 5 cable to connect a wall-plate which houses the sensor to a module repeater center. This unit usually controls 4 to 8 indivdual emitters to attach to you equipment. Since your going to run lines anyway this may be you best choice. The final option would be similar to the second, but instead of Cat5 it utilizes coax. Basically cost will be your biggest issue. Good Luck, SG

I'm an installer for Best Buy and the unit is called Job Site and it runs for 279.99. It's an IR blaster/repeater system that I have used many times. Sat Guy gave good options; any of those would work. I personally would use the IR blaster with cat5e cable, but its up to you.
