Hello,
I have purchased a mini-split air conditioning system (LG Art Cool) for my house. I will be doing the installation myself except for the final connections, charging the lines, etc. will be done by an HVAC professional.

I will be installing the indoor unit on an outside wall that is cladded by aluminum siding on the exterior. What is the tidiest way to actually penetrate the wall for the lineset without compromizing the installation in the wall cavity?

Is there a plastic or metal "flashing" or "sleeve" for the hole that I can use to have the lineset pass through? Or is there some kind of home-made solution with ABS or PVC and some appropriate fittings that I can then use spray foam in and around to seal the whole package.

Your tips and feedback are appriciated.

thanks -Jamie

I have not put one of these in myself, just serviced a couple of them.

Do you have a dealer lined up to do this?? I know there are a few who wil NOT touch it since they did not install this.

Also, you find out of LG will honor the warranity since it was not installed by an LG dealer? I know lot of company will not honor warranity on something that was not installed by a pro.

Yep -- I have a friend of my father's is the dealer. One of his associates will be doing the final connections for me.

I've always used a piece of PVC pipe as a sleeve. I suggest you check with the people doing the final connections on their preferences.
