I will be starting to lay laminate floor in a new addition. I have taken rough measurements and realized that i may have a problem. The room is 17x15.
Well, really the one wall is 17x15 and the other is 17x15' 2". Should i make sure my first row is perfect and deal with the extra 2" in the last row? Or, is there some trick to deal with the extra 2" where it won't be noticeable to the human eye? Thanks in advance.

Try to start the installation so that the 15'0" wall gets about a 1/3 width board. You may have to cut the first row down to accomadate.
We run into that same scenario often, given the way they build these days, and have yet to have a complaint when we install the floor that way. It is noticable when seam is close to the wall.
2" over 17 feet isn't that noticable when furniture is in the room.

If you run the planks the 17' direction the ends will be at the uneven wall and will make room squareness a non-issue.

That is a good solution Daniel. If the main light source come from the 17' side even better.
