I have a Zenith SG2795BG, and the comcast cable remote works with it but I lost the volume controls while trying to reprogram it for power on and off. I don't have an instruction manual as I bought it used, and I am not savey with programming remotes. My daughter and I worked with it enough to get the channels to respond but I don't know what to do now. When I first got the channels to respond, the volume control worked, but I couldn't turn it on and off, so I kept trying other codes. When I tried to turn the tv down, the volume control no longer worked on the remote. I can't figure out how to get it back. I would like to be able to control all functions with the remote, but volume control is really important to me. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Go to ComCast web site and you should find instructions on how to program their remote.

I have the instruction booklet for the remote. I tried inputting the codes and nearly all of them for the Zenith TV work to change the channels. When I first found one that the tv responded to, the volume control on the remote worked just fine, but I couldn't power on and off the tv with the remote. So I kept trying the different codes and none of them would work with this function. The guide that came with the comcast remote said to try the search function. Well that didn't seem to be doing anything. So I went back and reentered the codes that worked for the channel guides and select. But when I tried to change the volume......nothing. What I want is to get that function back again and I don't know what to do.

I have seen this problem with Zenith and Westinghouse and other brands. One code will do one thing while another will do the other. Try using codes for LG and Goldstar TV's. They sometimes work on Zenith TV's since LG purchased Zenith a year or two ago. Goldstar is the same thing as Zenith just of lower quality. If none of those work, you may need to purchase a higher-end universal remote.

Hope that helps,
