I have high humidity/moisture in my crawl (concrete floor). The home's sump pump is located in the crawl space. I was thinking I would buy a dehumidifier, but I really don't want to go into the crawl every week or so to empty it out. So I am thinking of getting a unit that has a hose drain, and just drain it into the tank with the sump pump. Is that ok? My only worry is since the pump is summerged in water all the time, and the tank is covered with a wooden lid, will the dehimidfier be drawing in that water and simply draining it right back into the tank (seems like a waste of energy to do that). I mean, the wooden lid will block most the mosture from the tank right?

You can run it into the sump, the only downfall is that if you do that in the winter, you will have water going outside. I don't know where it's being dumped out at, but if it's near a side walk, then you have to deal with the ice in the winter on the sidewalk.
The lid will block most of the moister, so it won't be a problem.
What is the temp in the space in the winter?
Do you have ductwork running in the crawlspace?

Yes, there is (insullated) duct work in the crawl and I have the walls of the crawl lined with reflective foil. On a cold Chicago day the crawl is comfortable (I keep the vents closed too) and maybe 10 degrees cooler than the house. The sump drains outside into the yard so no worries of ice on sidewalk. I put one of those moisture buckets in the crawl (you fill it with pebbles and it draws in moisture and fills the bucket) and I'm changing it once every 5-6 weeks.
