I had a plumber do the rough plumbing for a 1/2 bath in my basement. He left me with 3 new type shut off valves for my copper suppliy lines. These are not the type you solder on and turn in and out to shut it on or off. This type you just push on with a twist. To shut it on or off you push a "handle" in or out. It's called FlowTite.

Has anyone used these before and/or have an opinion of them?

I went to their website and it states that they conform to many plumbing codes. I have never seen this type valve before. I would check with your local code office about them. I really don't understand how you can be able to remove and reuse them and yet trust them not to "pop" off when you don't want them to. As far as the on/off feature, it you have water with a lot of minerals in it, I would think they would fail when you need them. Good luck.

Thank you for your response. Your concerns are valid. Clerks at Home Depot, here in the Detroit area ,have heard of them put have no experience with them.
Being a new product only time will tell how good they are.

My hopes are that you don't find out the hard way. Good luck.
