In August of this year my a/c unit took a dump so I had a new system installed.
I was told this was a “high efficiency system”:
Trane XL 80 Two-Stage Horizontal Gas furnace
Trane XL 14I Split cooling system - condenser model # 4TTX4060A1000A
with matching air conditioning coil model #HD20660D245B260300
ARI #567244
New ducts of high quality silver jacketed duct material
Two stage heating thermostat
At the time that this was quoted to me, I was told that it would provide a seer of about 13.5 and that it would qualify for a Dept. of Water & Power rebate of $425. I submitted the rebate request and the DWP rejected it, saying the seer rating is 11 (minimum to qualify is a 12.0 seer. I’ve tried to investigate this with the installer but I seem to be getting the run around. How do I go about properly calculating the seer so that I can see which butt my foot should be stuck in? Any help is appreciated.

On your reciept should be the model & serial numbers of all the equipment installed. The installation manuals (required to be left with you) should show what the SEER ratings are for your combination of equipment.

You are rated at 12.5 (http://www.aridirectory.org/ari/ac_search.php) and I would be going back to your power company.

Sorry that the link didn't bring up the info I plug in.
Ok.
I just enter the HD20660D245B260300 in the indoor unit model #
and hit search.
The outdoor unit is listed also the ARI ref # matches of what you typed in this posting.

If the installer told you 13 looks like your gonna be needing another leg to stand as both of yours are gonna be busy.
