I am in the planning phase of an exterior remodel to our home in rural PA. Our plan is to make our simple 70's ranch look like a small stone farmhouse. We would probably use Eldorado or Owens Corning Cultured stone (fieldstone pattern) over our wood framed exterior walls and chimney. Can anyone provide a ball-park per square foot cost estimate of 1) materials and 2) materials plus labor? I will need to cover about 1200 sq ft. Not sure if this is a job i would do myself or if its better left to the pros.

Your price will vary based upon the kind of stone, of course, and the work necessary to prepare the walls to receive the veneer. I've seen cast concrete veneer stones (they can do some amazing things with concrete nowadays) for about $7.00 a foot (rough number, veneer stone is often sold by weight), then you have mortar, lath, and the other material costs on top of that. I haven't looked into labor costs.
