I have an older house we are remodeling and there is a crack in the plaster going down the wall. I was not sure where I could go to buy the compound needed to fill the crack in the plaster. I thought about using drywall compound but heard it would not bond to the plaster easily.

Is spakle only for drywall?? Thats what we have been using. We are new to this though.

Regular joint compound works fine. You are going to need to use paper tape on the crack first, otherwise the crack will continue to come through (if you use mesh tape or nothing.)

I hope this helps
