Went to Lowes yesterday and they were having a clearance/garage sale in front of the store... a bunch of stuff. The asst mgr standing there with a marker and scanner said that the prices were less than marked...

Well, I walked out of there with a Dremel 16in Variable Speed scroll saw with 12 blades and leg stand included in the box for $65. Brand spankin' new.

That made my Sunday :)

Not to steal your thunder, but a few weeks ago at Lowes, I snagged a Kobalt 4 drawer rolling tool chest with a molded "tool tray" top for $20. It normally retailed for $176, but it had been dropped from such a height as to rack it way out of square. The cross corner dimensions on the front were off by 3" and on one side, off by over an inch. It took about 5 hours of hammering, bending, clamping and stretching (with a hydraulic car jack) metal and now the toolchest not only looks good, but all the drawers are aligned and work perfectly.

Friday evenings seems to be the clearence days for Lowes around where I live. Some bargins I made in the last two months:

5 Skill circular saw blades with tool carry case for $15.00 (I bought 3 - 2 for gifts)

GMC Red Eye Circular saw for $20 (bought 2, one for a gift and one for messy and I don't want to harm my Ridgid type work)

Laser Level for $20, currently in the store for $79.

All new. Just need to keep your eyes open and be in the right place at the right time.

Sears is the place I frequent as they have lifetime on most things and always have sales. Never had a warranty issue (knock on the material of your choice) Speciality-type stuff I use Lee Valley or KMS Tools.

Sears Canada, a few months ago I bought a Craftsman 19.2V Cordless Drill for $79.00, from $219.00.
Shortly after that a Craftsman Hammer Drill 6.0A for $89.00 from $179.00.
About a week ago I bought a Craftsman 10" Mitre Saw w/Laser for $329.00 from $419.00.

I rarely go to Canadian Tire but, they had a Waterloo 5-Drawer DIY Tool Centre for $79.00 Reg price $159.00. 3 small tool boxes now hold the rarely used tools. :)

Now to divide the 12x24 garage into a 5th bedroom and workshop...hmmm, maybe 12x8 for the bedroom ;) :D

I noticed that last week when I went to find the local Lowes (I just moved here)
The sales associate was set up near the registers and had a marker and must have had authority to mark down stuff
Thee was a $269 2 nailer set for $100
He say "You have a compressor?"
"Yup"
"Here..." marks it down to $75, "Now that's a deal"
lol
"Ya can't leave with out one of these" he says
Scribbled $15 on the laser level

Ooookaaayyy
I didn't even have to twist the wife's arm to fill the cart
It did take a while at the register with all the overides though...
...just gave me more time to chortle with glee over my finds

You mean they do this all the time?

I always check the clearance tables inside at Lowes... but this is the first time I've seen someone standing over clearance stuff with a marker cutting deals. Must've been a pre-spring cleaning.

OK, guys. I was at our local orange big box today, and they have the Ryobi 10 piece 18 volt set on sale at $245, regularly $399. It has (hope I can remember) a 1/4" driver, drill, circular saw, jig saw, chain saw, flashlight, reciprocating saw, palm type sander...I forget. Anyway it looked like a pretty good deal.

How about this one:

A brand new Bosch 1710 4 1/2" 7.5 Amp angle grinder for.... $42.50!!!

woohoo! They also had the Bosch jigsaw (I already have one) which is normally $154 for $77! I think I could buy them and sell them on ebay for more than that!! heh heh I have no idea how they can sell them so low?
