I would like to know if there is anything that I can use to add fabric on 3 sides of sheers. I cannot sew and was hoping there might be some kind of tape, glue, etc? The trim is 2" wide and not heavy, so weight won't be a problem.

Thanks for your help!

I'm not clear as to what kind of trim you're using because you're referring to it as fabric. I think of banding or piping when I think of fabric and some type of fringe or bead when I think of trim. If it's a banding I would use an iron on tape, such as Steam-A-Seam and if it's a type of fringe I would use a fabric glue, such as Sobo or Aleen's Tacky. If you use the glue, run small beads across rather than a thick line so it doesn't leak out the sides or run into the sheer. If you use the iron-on, it comes in light for sheers and regular for regular fabrics. so if you're adding a banding, you'd have to test first to see which one to use. I sew and only use fusibles in certain applications, so I can't tell you which one would be better.

Thanks Shadeladie for the info. To clarify things, the trim I referred to is drapery fabric. I'm using it to band three sides of the drapery and add color to the sheers. The fabric is 2" wide and cut on the bias. If this info changes your recs, please let me know. Or, you may know something else that works. Either way, thanks for your help.

Ok, if it's a fabric band, then I would go with the Steam-A-Seam. It comes in different sizes, so I'd go with the 1/4" size, with the double stick. You will need a hot iron, so you'll want to test it on a small scrap of your fabrics, first. If your fabric band can take the heat, I would cover the sheer with cloth, because you need to be careful with sheers. The nice thing about the tape is, it has a temporary stick before you iron, so you can make adjustments, then iron when everything is done and looks right. This really is your only option, aside from sewing. I wouldn't recommend glue on fabric, because it might bleed thru.
