I'm trying to wire a Desert Spring-3200 humidifier to the 24v transformer of an Armstrong Ultra 80 oil furnace (approximately 2 years old) to only run when the furnace is running. Unfortunately the furnace manual says consult the humidifier manual and the humidifier manual says consult the furnace manual.
The white wire from the thermostat is connected directly to the oil burner. Which is what the furnace manual shows. The connections I see on the transformer are:
Y - yellow from thermostat, line to AC
C - violet from relay, line to AC
G - green from thermostat, violet from relay
R - rc from thermostat (rc & rh jumpered in thermostat), red to to oil burner.
W - nothing
Thanks for any help that anyone can offer.
Jeff

Do you want it to run whenever the fan runs?
If yes, then I'd get a remote transformer, tie it to the house 120, and put a A50 relay on the blower's common wire.

I'm not sure about Arnstrong. Most new furnaces have accessory termenals. Labeled acc hum or eac. If your lucky it will be 24v. If not connect your transformer hot there and the other leg on com 110v.

Thanks for the advice. No such luck on ECAC or Hum hookups. I just ordered the A50 relay, so should be up and running in "only when fan on mode" in a week or so.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.
