Hi,

I have a GE dryer that gets warm but not hot enough to dry the clothes without running 4-5 hours. The vent is not blocked it blows out steady warm air.

What could be the cause of this and how could I fix it?

If its an older style dryer, they have 2 elements located behind drum. Could be that one burned out & dryer is only being heated by one element. Dave

If gas , you may have a limit switch that is defective causing the gas to be shut off. It is a small switch located on the air duct in the back on the dryer.
