I needed to replace one of two keypads on my Concord Express alarm (LED Failure) With the power off I disconected the 4 wires to the bad keypad. After connecting the new Keypad. I turned the power to the unit back on. I now see press status. When I check it. It tells me I have a (00) bus failure.

What did I do wrong. What can I try.

I believe that the keypads are supervised, so you have to enroll the new one. Check your wiring though.

The keypads are enrolled by a serial number. The bad keypads serial number must be removed. Do your keypads have doors on them? If they do, you need an alpha numeric keypad.

Its going to show this bus failure until you get into programing, and go under accessory modules. When you get there you have to match the serial # of the keypad you replaced, when you find it you need to delete it. If you don't have a alpha keypad installed your not going to be able to do this. If your keypad just has numbers displayed on it that you have to match to a list you have the wrong keypad. If it says Bedroom Window..etc (Actual Text) then you can get into programming with this.

Let us know what you have, if you have a alpha keypad and the dealer code or master security code we can walk you through removing this.
