My neighbor gave me his dryer after remodeling his house. He said the dryer was working!
I had to change the powercord from a 4 prong to 3 prong. Other than "no heat", the unit seems to be running OK!
What's the problem? Are there other wires I need to reconfigure for the 3 prong cord? Or is the element b/o?
I haven't repaired a dryer in years and assume the element is still a "strech coil" but neighbor says these new models have an element that's similar to a water heater.
Thanks for any info!

As long as the three wire is hooked up right black/white/red.... make sure you have voltatage at the terminal block black/white-120 / white/red-120 / black/red-220.. if power there then need to unplug and check heater for continuity.. moving it may have damaged the coils...
