Hello,

I have a washing machine that will fill with water but not agitate. If I pull the belt is will algitate. Also, once the spin cycle starts - the drum does not spin. If I tug on the belt it will start to spin the drum. What is the main cause of such as issue?

Thank you,
:wall:

jayme_hall6, Welcome to the DIY Forums.
Have you noticed if the motor pulley the belt is riding on is moving? It could be that the belt has streched and when you pull on it, the necessary friction is applied and it turns the other pulleys it is suppose to turn. I am not an expert in this subject. Good luck.

Nothing is spinning. I would say the transmission has packed it in. Would anyone confirm that?
