I've noticed those backpack canister vacuums that custodial services use. Are there non-pro versions of these available?

Not that i have noticed. You could most likely still be able to pick up the pro verison thou. Backpack vaccums..are know for their superior filteration of exhaust and vaccum power. Some are pretty equal in price with some of the higher residential units. Do a search in your favorite search engine..you will be surprised.
