Air Conditioning - Elec co. killed the blower. Need help because I don't have $300 to pay!!!!!!!!!!

I have a moble home with a combo heat/ac unit. Today the Eclectric co. turned off the elec to work on the power next door.When the power came back on it was simalar to a "brown out",there was not enough electicicity for anything 220 volt to even try to turn on but the ac. This caused smoke and the burning elec wire smell to come out of the inside blower area! Checked all the breakers and the heat/air/thermostat and outside fan all work.....just not the inside blower. Two techs were contacted by phone....one says the breaker is the most likely problem (the one for the blower) the other said the blower moter will have to be replaced.

$300 to fix either way.....what can I check or watch to make sure the repairman checks so I don't get ripped off??!! $300 is major money to us!!!!

If it's $300 either way I'd just check to make sure it works after they are done :o

And if they power company did screw it up I would contact them with the bill and perhaps talk to a lawyer to see what your rights are.
