Can anyone help me with suggestions on why my refrigerator seems to run all the time? We live in a small area and it seems like the fridge is putting excess moisture and there is brown coating on everything. The pan at the back of the fridge is rusty looking and dried out. The coils on the back are covered in lint and I'm afraid if I try to clean them I will stir up a whole house full of dust. Thanks.

Take a vacuum with a brush attachment and clean thecoil on teh back real good. It sounds like the condenser coil (the coil on the back) is too dirty for proper transfer of heat so the unit is not efficiently mainitaining temperatures. This would explain why it would run all the time.
Try it out and monitor it for 24 hours and let us know what happens.

Thank you, I will get the vacuum out. Would the dirt on the coils explain the kind of "swelling" of the outside of the fridge? Does the drip pan normally have water in it? It looks really rusted and I suspect water is dripping out because I can see a stain, but it is not wet.

What does this mean?
" there is brown coating on everything"

What I mean is the kitchen is very small and the refrigerator seems to run all the time. The counters, cabinets, etc. have a sticky, covering of dirt, that is only in the kitchen. I wondered if it was from the fans blowing out any moisture since the drip pan is rusted dry. I believe the fridge is leaking water somewhere.

Wouldn't there be some wetness in the drip pan?

Sounds like grease from cooking, but what do I know[Do not take offense---pleeeeeeez].
Are the ref and freezer as cold as they should be.There is oil in the freon so if there is a leak it may be that. There is not that much in there though.
The tray in the bottom of the Ref accumulates defrost water and it evaporates. If there is no water ever and the ref is not cold it may not be defrosting. When it does not defrost cold air cannot circulate in the freezer and eventually the ref.
If it does not get cold after you clean the coils get back
Surprised nobody asked for a model#?????????
