I had one of these Honeywell Bypass humidifier installed today and the installer put it just like the directions so at lest 3 in above the furnace jacket. On the supply side above teh coils. And then ran the 6" pipe to the return air. Is this correct??? Everything i am reading shows that it should be put on the cold air return? Will this hurt idf it is on the supply side??

Yeah, that is fine.
The suggest as you said. but it will work the same.
Nothing to worry about.
