i need to pour a stairway coming off a existing patio slab. from the slab to the backyard grade there is a 3 foot drop. already existing is a 3 foot blockwall on each end of were the stairs need to be. so how do i form it up without the stakes having to be in the cement while it cures. in other words when i pull my form out in a couple days wont it leave holes in my stairs.

Pull the stakes right before you're ready for the final finish (brooming the texture I assume). By then, the concrete should have reached enough of a set that the steps won't droop or sag. Start at the top and work down the steps. You can leave the forms on if you want, or pull them off too and finish the risers. Keep a little extra concrete when you pour and fill the stake holes with it. Then float them off, and broom right over them. It is easier to do if you use steel form stakes instead of wood stakes, but it works either way.
