I have recently moved into a house about 4 years old. I want to supply a plug socket for a TABLE LIGHT ONLY. The only place I can link it from without taking off a mile of skirting is from a nearby light switch. (this circiut is one rose swicthed by 2 switches). I seem to have tried all logical connections at the back of one of the light switches, but the best I can get is about half the power I should be getting out of the plug and the light in the ceiling rose glows. Is there anything I can do or am I off to buy new skirting??!

If you only have three wires + ground then you can not do it. If you have more than three wires tell all the wires in the box and how they were connected before you started this project.

Not where you are.
In the UK, lights are typically run off a switch loop, which means there won't be a neutral in the box. Plus I believe it is forbidden to run a GP BS1363 recepticle off off a lighting circuit.
