Thanks for the input on my other thread. I am slowly starting to understand this stuff (that is scary)

I am looking through the programming worksheets and they are referencing partition 1 and 2.
What is the definition of partitions?
What and how are they used?
or I guess the real question should be, how do you usually use the partitions if at all.

Thanks, Ron Haug

Partitioning allows an alarm system to be split into 2 or more virtual systems, each with their own sets of users, codes and zones. There can be overlap so that some zones are common to both partitions, and user codes can be set to operate both partitions.

The most common use is something like a warehouse with attached offices, where the warehouse is one partition, and the office suites are another. Some brands and models can be split into as many as a dozen partitions.
