I have an Aprilaire 700 that is in need of it's third control board replacement in a year's time. The most recent board lasted three weeks before failing. The unit is plugged into an AC outlet on the furnace that is powered when the blower kicks on. I replaced an Aprilaire 760 with this 700 model a year ago but I did not change the humidistat or any internal wiring to the furnace, assuming they would work on the 700 model.
Any suggestion as to why I am burning up control boards is greatly appreciated.

Is your 24v connected to the 24v on the furnace. it shouldn't be. The 24v wires through a 50relay to the humidistat and back.
