Hi, I am new to this web site and I had a question reguarding making a dividing screen. I am currently renovating an old house which belonged to my mothe in law. The kitchen and laundry area will be together but we don't really want to build a wall to hide the washer and dryer. What I thought of was making a screen which I could paint and decorate with a laundry motif. I had seen this done years ago on a do it yourself tv show possibly in Canada. The frame wouldn't be a problem and hinges to connect each partition but I am at a loss as what to put in between these partitions that would be practical to paint and also hide my washer. If anyone has any suggestions or ideas it would be appreciated. Thanks! :)

Welcome to the forum. You could use something like burlap, which is homey looking, and you could hang things from it. Stretch it tight and staple it to the frame and cover the edges with molding. Doing this from the back side will tend to hide it from sight in case you don't achieve perfection on your trim.
