Hello -
I purchased a light to hang from a ceiling box that was installed and wired when my home was built (but at the time no lamp was put in).
There is only one wall switch controlling the box.
The lamp I bought has two identical silver wires (no white or black), plus a ground wire.
The ceiling box has a white wire, a blue wire and a purple wire (all capped and none attached to anything else).
Can anyone tell me which wires get connected to which? Help!!!
Thank you!
Zach

Unless you can trace the wires back to their origin to see which wires are your hot , common, and ground..... then you are going to need a volt meter or one of those nifty glow sticks that light up when you touch it to a power source!
