Hello,
I have DSC1555 & it indicates that trouble is with 4, which means that there's a failure communicating with our alarm centre.
*ADSL line is still active (I can go on internet like this)
*Telephone signal is active in the box attached outside of our house
*But all our indoor telephone lines are DEAD! & can't make/receive any phone calls. No dial tone or nothing. (I've tested all our phone handset & they are detached now)
I don't know who to contact to repair the problem, &
If there's any chance fixing by myself, I'd like to try.
Thanks in advance, for your advise!

This is one of those oddities of DSL enabled telephone lines. What has happened, is that somewhere in your house, either in the wiring, or a bad telephone device, telephone cord, or jack has shorted the phone line, making it look like it's "off" hook to the telephone switching center. After a time they will disconnect your dial tone, automatically. Remember, the DSL operates on a different derived frequency, and will continue to work, even if the phone is off hook.
If all of your phone jacks are home run to the NID, The easy trouble shoot is to disconnect one at a time until your dialtone comes back, then figure out what's causing the problem.

Thanks for the reply,
I checked the junction box in the basement, and saw some open wires "too dirty & too close to each other".
So I cleaned & re-capped with proper things, and the phone was up again!
After contacting the alarm compan, they reset the connection & everything went back to normal.
Thanks again.
