I've got a Kohler faucet that shuts off out of the blue. No rhyme, reason or pattern--happens whether it is hot or cold. --Haven't a clue why. Can somebody help me? Thanks

Tell us what type of faucet (kitchen, bath, shower, one or two handles) and even the model number would help. Do you mean that the water stops flowing by itself after you have turned on the water?
Does it happen everytime the faucet is opened? How frequently does it happen?

1. Kohler Kitchen Single handle type model unknown.
2. The water cuts off by itself after flowing, the time duration before shut off varies, does not happen everytime either. Regardless whether hot or cold.
One last clue: The sound when it shuts off is similar to the clunk sound heard when a dishwasher fills with water and then its fill valve shuts off prior to wash cycle.

Does it have a sprayer attached? It sounds like maybe the diverter is faulty.
