I have never done ths before, but I want to replace the shower fixtures(handles, spout, showerhead, stems, etc) in my kids bathtub. I've replaced sink faucets and toilets before, but not shower/bath tub units.

Is it as simple as removing the chrome fixtures, removing the hot and cold water stems and replacing them all?

Any and all advice would be appreciated.

Thanks, John

If you are talking about replacing the shower valve itself, you need access to the back of the shower wall and the tools and know-how to solder copper piping. You need a valve that is the same style: single handle or two handle or three handle for a tub/shower (not shower only). It usually comes with a shower head.
