I want to add lights to the ciweling in my living room, sicne there currently are none. which means that i need to run electricity threre as well.
i want to install recessed lighting.
Currnetly I have an outlet at about the hieght that i would want to place a switch to control the lgiths. Can i chnage that outlet to a switch and then run fromt he switch wires to the recessed lighting?
Is this the easiser way?
There is no access tot eh ceiling from the floor above.

Yes you can do that. Fishing new cable is an art. It depends onhow the house is built. Such things as the direction of the joists, presense of insulation, etc.
