can anyone tell me how a person would go about getting chunks of rust out of a fill valve? i installed a new crane toilet for a couple in town, it was working fine while i was there today i went over to fix the "new" toilet. there was big chunks of rust in the hose to the vavle but i cant see anyway to tear apart the fill valve. thanks for any help.

If you cannot disassemble the fill-valve, I see no way of cleaning it out. I would advise replacing it with a Fluidmaster 400A fill-valve. It has features that allow cleaning and clearing any clogs. Good luck.
