I'm wanting to remodel a bathroom in a house I recently bought, but before I get started I want to figure out what to do with the ugly bathtub. There is absolutely nothing wrong with it except the color. It's an ugly brown/fleshy color...never seen anything like it. I can tell it's steel (heavy), so I really don't want to have to replace it since it's in good condition anyway. What does resurfacing entail? Would that be over-the-top just to get rid of the color? Should I get a 'fitter' to go over it? I just want a white tub. What are your suggestions?

Thanks for your advice!

Having seen the results posted here of some of the "tries" members made to fix up the old tub, you would be further ahead to either replace or live with the color. Most coatings flake off. I have seen a couple posts here where the coating was working well, but this was within the first couple months. The coating on tubs resists stains and also coatings. Good luck with whatever you decide.
