I framed a couple of bedrooms in my finished basement- when I put the drywall up there is one section where they don't come together well. One sheet is about 1/2 out from the other. Being that they are basement rooms I don't really care too much about appearence. Is there some typr of quick drying and sandable filler I can use?
Thanks in advance

1/2" is a large gap to jump, but I've seen worse with pros, don't despair. Prior to finishing, I would get some quick dry spackling compound and press into the crack. after it drys and shrinks, do it again. Then apply tape and dress it with sheetrock compound. The spackling is really hard, so it will give a good base for you to finish it with.

Just so there is no misunderstanding when you go to purchase material. Spackling is for minor repairs. What chandler was referring to is one of the fast setting compounds like durabond. Regular joint compound will also work but it dries slowwer and shrinks more. As chandler suggested durabond would work best.

I knew what to use, I just couldn't think of the name "Durabond"...thanks Mark.

You have to make sure you do use the paper tape when you fill it in. Some people like to use the adhesive fiberglass mesh tape, but I can't stand it, because it still seems to crack.
Good Luck
