Designing Kitchens and Bathrooms - Removing Vanity Top

I currently have a Corian vanity top on an old built in cabinet. The top was installed about 12 years ago and is still in good shape. I'm wondering how easy (or difficult) it would be to remove the top in one piece so as to reuse it. I'd like to replace the vanity and reuse the Corian top.

As far as I know, the top was caulked? to the cabinet but not glued in any way.

Does anyone have any comments, experience or suggestions?

More than likely the corian is held to the vanity with silicone, and should come off fairly easily. However, look under the vainity to make sure it is not screwed in the corners. Using a 5 in 1 tool, carefully force it between the vanity and corian, starting from one of the corners, working your way to the center. Once you get a gap, keep it wedged up and keep working with the 5 in 1. If possible, it would be easier to do if you can remove the vanity first.

If you did find screws in the Corian then don’t put them back in when you install the new vanity. Anyone who puts screws into Corian is an idiot and doesn’t know the first thing about Corian and should never touch the material. When I install these I will secure it by placing nickel size globs of 100% Clear Silicone in the corners and two in the center. Don’t run a continuous bead of caulk. After the Caulk has dried completely I go back and cut off the extra silicone that spooged out of the front. This leaves a clean and proper installation every single time. Good Luck
