Have a problem.
We replaced a track lighting fixture and the switch, and now the lightbulb immediately burns out.
The switch was replaced with a dimmer - checked all the connections. All white in box are pigtailed together, and 2 black wires are connected to each terminal of the switch and the ground is connected.
The track lights were a 2 wire, and we're replacing it with a 3 wire. the black, white, and ground are all connected to the fixture. tried reversing the black and white - same result.
Turn on the circuit, then turn on the switch, and the track light flashes on and burns out the bulb. Also replaced the switch and light fixture again before relalizing the bulb blew.
Any idea's on what's happening??

The most likely explanation is a voltage mismatch. Perhaps you installed a low-voltage fixture but did not install the transformer, or installed it backwards or otherwise incorrectly. Or perhaps you installed a line-voltage fixture but are using low-voltage bulbs.

Yes, that was it.
We had a "Voltage Mismatch". We installed a Line-Voltage fixture, and was using low-voltage bulbs. The bulbs looked the same......
Thank you very much for your quick help - It saved us a bunch of more time and money!!
