I'm trying to replace the cartridge in a Moen shower faucet, as it is dripping.
The faucet is a "pull/on - push/off" type and you control the water temperature by turning the handle left and right The house is only 8 years old, so it's not an old faucet.

I removed the cover from handle, and when I try to remove the handle screw, it won't come off. It just spins but will not come out.

Any help?

Thanks!

vjgkam, Welcome to the DIY Forums.
Have you tried pulling on the handle while turning the screw? It may be stripped. I have included Moens website and toll free phone number. Perhaps you can find a diagram of your unit to see what may be stopping you. Good luck.

Hi sounds like the plastic handle is broke. I would break or cut off the plastic handle. then relace the handle and cartridge.
Good Luck Woodbutcher.
