I live in Massachusetts and find that during the winter my house gets very dry. I had a Aprilaire 600 installed. I find when i set it at the correct outdoor temp as the manual instructs my house is still dry. I have been leaving it set at the highest humidity setting or 40 degree temp even when the temp outsides drop. Is this Ok to do. I have not been getting any moisture on my windows and my digital hygrometer(sp) usually reads between 38% and 42%.Thanks for any input.

It depends on the home itself.. Your windows may not be damp. but check over cool spots in the home. like wall corners.. near ceilings..

I keep ours around 35 to 40%.

So if I do not find any moisture building up on the walls and cieling either then i should be safe from mold? I just do not want to create a problem.

If you have no problems with any build up, then should be fine.

The 600 comes with an automatic outdoor senser.See if there is away to run it to the northside or shade. Set the stat on normal and forget it.
