My toliet was rocking and I need to fix it. When starting to remove the toliet one of the bolts came out without taking the nut off. After removing the toliet I noticed the flange was bent slightly up but not broken on the right hand side. Do I need to replace the flange? It looks to me as though it is a cast iron flange. Also what is the best advise to stop the toliet from rocking. The flange itself is lose. What is used (Screws, nails, etc) to hold the flnge to the floor.

The flange should be secured to the floor. If floor is concrete, use Tapcon screws. If wood, any type screw will work. You may want to buy a Super-ring to go over the current flange so the bolts heads do not pull out. The super-ring will have holes that match up with holes in the current flange to screw through. If the current flange doe's not have holes, you will need to drill some. Plastic toilet shims are available at Home Centers. These will stop the toilet from rocking. Good luck.
