Hello:
My wife and I recently moved into a new construction house which only offered standard Moen faucets. We recently decided to upgrade the faucets to a Brushed Nickel finish. All of the pieces went on easily except for the actual handle portion due to this Pressure Balancing Valve. I would assume that this is a Must Have piece and the valve that is currently in the wall behind the fiberglass tub must go, but how? It would seem ridiculous to sell a faucet set that must be installed as new installation not as an upgrade months or years later. Is there any way to put the new handle on the current valve without changing to this special valve or am I looking at hiring a plumber for lots of $$?
Thanks

saabpylot, Welcome to the DIY Forums.
With two different manufacturers, I am not sure what will fit. I have included the websites and toll-free phone numbers for both companies.
Moen 1-800-BUY-MOEN (289-6636)
http://www.moen.com/
Price Pfister 1-800-Pfaucet 1-800-732-8238

Good luck.
