I just installed an Aprilaire 700. Everything works fine except the soleniod valve cycles on and off. When the furncace first starts the gas, the Aprilaire starts and runs for a few seconds then shuts of and continues the process(cycles on and off). This happens until the fan or blower starts, which then the Aprilaire starts and stays on for the full heat cycle.
I have the humidistat wired to the 24V(tested) "R" and "Common" terminals in the furnace. There is a "HUM" terminal, but it is a male spade terminal type, not a screw down type, therefor I did not use it.
Could this be the reason why the unit cycles on and off before the blower comes on????
Thanks for you help.

If you hooked the humidifer to the t-stat wire R .. DISCONNTECT it NOW!
Read your install manual!
This unit has it's own transfomer, and it says do not use external 110/24 volts.

OK. I changed the wiring from the previous way. Here is how it is wired now(please tell me if this is wrong).
24v from furnace accy terminals, 1-24v common, 1- HUM terminal to R & C on humidistat control. Then 2 wires going from H terminals on humidistat to solenoid wires. Outdoor sensor wired to the ODT terminals.
Does this sound right? Also, how do you tell what model humidistat you have? Does it say so somewhere on the unit.
Please Help.
Thanks
