I need to shim a new tub that is being installed and surrounded by 3 walls. What is the best material and/or method to shim it? Thanks

Wood stringers on the back and side walls, a bed of mortar on the bottom to be squeezed out with wood shims off the front and use level marks off the walls scribed before you set the tub in mortar.
