Contractor spilled purple PVC cleaner on our brand new washer and dryer. Nail polish remover did not work. Anything else to try before wet sanding them?

Terrie, Welcome to the DIY Forums.
If you read the first sentence in the directions for using Purple cleaner, it says that it will stain almost any surface. Sanding will probably be your only recourse and it will ruin the finish. I would contact the contractor as it would appear to be his fault. Good luck and watch this post for other ideas.

The only thing that comes to mind would be a strong solvent...but that will take the paint off. So, you might as well contact the contractor..most SHOULD carry insurance. Most times you can not even paint over the spills as they are that deep of a color. Sanding, priming and repainting are your best bets. Unfortunately, doing one spot is not going to come out with a uniform appearance. So, the whole thing would have to be done. Contact the contractor.
