We have a skylight chute directly over our shower. We are new to the house and the previous owners installed this relatively recently. Problem...there is some moisture/mildew coming through the drywall and wood trim underneath the skylight itself. The bathroom appears to have an adaquate exhaust van. How do I best deal with this (i.e how to replace the drywall/trim, and better yet, how to avoid this high moisture).

gmann61,
Skylights directly over a shower is a bad deal. Is the light shaft tapered or just has vertical sides?
The exhaust fan - what size is it and what size is the bathroom?

Also make sure the skylight is flashed properly, you may have a leak.
